A PROJECT THAT CHANGED HANDS BEFORE IT BROKE GROUND.
The Kuhio Park Low Rises Phase 1 is a $150M redevelopment that will replace 75 aging public housing units with 304 new units on a 4-acre site in Honolulu.
By the time Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company (HDCC) came onto the project, it had changed ownership. The original drawings were reviewed and priced by a different general contractor: not to HDCC's standards for constructability, subcontractor scope, or budget reality.
Hawaiian Dredging inherited a 540-sheet bid set and a project already in motion. Then the revisions started. With new owners came new design standards, new specifications, and a new vision for the project.
4 MAJOR REVISIONS IN 7 MONTHS.
Between December 2025 and July 2026, the design team issued four Architect's Supplemental Instructions.
280 revised sheets across seven months, spanning architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection disciplines. Each carrying potential impacts to cost, schedule, and subcontractor scope.
The traditional approach: open Bluebeam, create an overlay sheet by sheet against the previous version, and comb through highlighted differences trying to distinguish meaningful changes. That's up to 60 hours of work across four ASIs before anyone has made a single phone call to a subcontractor.

Scoreboard AI automatically generated a change narrative report for each ASI: breaking down every sheet, detail by detail, describing exactly what was added, removed, or modified. Each item links directly to an automatically generated overlay. Instead of building overlays manually and wading through pixel-level noise, the Hawaiian Dredging team went straight to what changed and why it mattered.
The total review time across all four revisions ran 10-15 hours. Compared to 60 hours manually, that's roughly 45 hours given back to the project team: critical hours better spent coordinating with subcontractors to lock in cost and schedule impact.
Additionally, the detailed change report provided by HDCC saves each subcontractor hours. The total savings to the project is upwards of hundreds of hours of manual drawing review.
